College Football Gambling in 2012 Will Feature Miami versus Notre Dame

A rivalry that goes back to the 1950′s will be a portion of the 2012 college football wagering schedule as Miami of Florida plays Notre Dame.

The two teams will face off on October 6, 2012 at Soldier Field in Chicago. The teams will then participate in a home and home series that ought to be well-liked with those that bet on football starting in 2016.

College football gambling on Notre Dame is always popular and when they play Miami it ought to attract a lot of bettors. The competition in 2016 at South Bend will be a genuine home competition for the Fighting Irish while the competition in Chicago will give Notre Dame a slight home field advantage. In 2017, Miami will get the home field advantage.

Notre Dame leads against Miami 15-7-1 in the all-time series. The Hurricanes crushed the Fighting Irish in 1985 when Notre Dame was coached by Gerry Faust. Miami defeated Notre Dame three times throughout the 1980′s and in each year they went on to win the national tournament. The Fighting Irish got revenge in 1988 when they defeated Miami. Notre Dame went on to win the national championship that year. Notre Dame also defeated Miami in 1990 by a score of 29-20. That win powered the Irish to the Orange Bowl and knocked Miami from national championship contention. The teams have not competed since.

Miami comes into the 2010 year as a dark horse contender to earn the national championship. They are gaining respect from those that bet on college football as they are 18-1 to win it all this year. The Hurricanes play in what is regarded as a vulnerable ACC Conference. Miami has a schedule that may put them into the national championship hunt and they return quarterback Jacory Harris. If they could upset the Buckeyes when they play at Ohio State on September 11th, they would get a lot of interest. The difficulty for Miami is that they’ve got road games at Pittsburgh and at Clemson subsequent to the game vs the Buckeyes. Winning in all three locations won’t be easy. They’ve also got a game later in the year at home vs Virginia Tech which will be challenging.

Notre Dame is not regarded as quite as formidable as the Hurricanes. The Fighting Irish are 40-1 long shots to earn it all in 2010. The edge that the Irish have over Miami this year is their schedule. Notre Dame’s hardest games appear to be at home vs Pittsburgh and Utah and the season finale at USC.
